About Me

I am retired but spend my time doing research on my favorite topic:  Metis of the USA.  Many people know about the Metis of Canada but few people know we also originated here.  Right now, I've been invited to participate in two Canadian research program about us and looking forward to the end results.

Bezon Mewatis, I appreciate what you are doing with the Metis research. Metis used to be what all of us mixed French & Indian folk were called, except for those in former Spanish territories..now there are even more colorful terms.I'll never forget the first time I heard the terms "quadraroon' & 'octaroon", I thought it was a marine animal until my mother explained it to me. Have you published any of your work?
