Until a moment ago, I was not ready to hear the message of the Vagina Monologues. I've been invited a few times by co-workers to attend stage presentations but never seemed to understand the power; of listening to women tell their stories. I've always been a late bloomer.

better late than never! wishing you an exciting brave new year!

Rape is never justified in any country.....and women are not to blame when they are raped. Great video recognizing the need for awareness worldwide.

Right On! Attacking violence against women isthe greatest step humanity can take. In honoring and respecting us, the mothers of all peoples we work to bring and to secure the humane treatment of all people and all living things. But we just have to stop hurting each other. I am a survivor of violent crime and my best friend is from the Phillipines . I lost my job and may be homeless because of a new female administrator who hates Mexicans and being Mexican and wasn't very impressed with Native women, either. She also had religious bias issues as well and informeing me she would be hiring in her high school girlfriends (true story). Of course if you stand up for yourself you are 'black-balled' for employment or delivered back into the hands of your abuser. One thing that we as women have to take ownership of is how we hurt each other. We have to be more accepting of each other's differences and do not veiw each other as threats and competition. Those behaviors have only served to hurt us more as a group than granting an individual's gain. If any us of hurt or damage another woman over a job, man or child we can not blame men or society for this. We as individuals make choices. As a gender we are up against a lot so why make it harder on ourselves? Let us chose well.
